Moon Photos and Info
Piggyback w/ Maxxum 7000i
All photos in this section were taken with my Minolta Maxxum 7000i and
using its lenses mounted piggyback on the LX10.
- Thin
crescent moon setting behind the hills at Little Blair Valley. The
sunlit crescent is overexposed and the earthshine portion of the moon
has the clearly visible features. [210mm@f4, 4 seconds, Fuji Superia
400, August 1, 2000 (8:45pm)].
Starlight Xpress HX916
- 31%-phase moon
[LX10 at f/6.3 with moon filter, a mosaic of two sets of images of
0.30 seconds each (the top half is a stack of 5 images, the bottom
is a stack of 9 images, all with dark and flat frames applied, then
averaged, and then deconvolved), 02Mar19].
- 61%-phase
moon [Orion 120ST at f/5 with moon filter and Meade broadband
filter, a stack of 10 0.30 seconds, no dark or flat frames
applied. The stack was deconvolved in AIP (defaults), then rotated,
resized to 1.5X, and some brightness/contrast tweaks], 02Mar22].
- 93%-phase
moon [Orion 120ST at f/5 with moon filter and broadband filter,
a stack of 5 0.30 second images, no dark or flat frames applied,
three rounds of deconvolution, 02Feb24].
Eyepiece Projection w/ Nikon CoolPix 990
All photos in this section were done using eyepiece project (can't do
prime focus with an integrated lens camera like consumer-grade digital
cameras like the CoolPix) using my LX10. All photos were taken with my
Nikon CoolPix 990 Digital Camera.

photos were taken with my Minolta Maxxum 7000i.
- Full moon on May 17, 2000 (9pm).
One of my first ever at prime focus. [f10, 1/60th second, Kodak
Gold 400, Meade off-axis guider as T-adapter].
Eyepiece Projection w/ Maxxum 7000i
All photos in this section were done using eyepiece projection using my
LX10. All photos were taken with my Minolta Maxxum 7000i.
- Mare Crisium - May 19, 2000
(10pm), waning moon shot. High-magnification eyepiece
projection (6.7mm lens). [f10, 1/8th second, Kodak Gold 400,
Meade T-adapter].

All photos in this section were done at prime focus using my LX10. All
photos were taken with an STV CCD camera.
