Swan Nebula, Omega Nebula, NGC 6618, Const: Sagittarius, Type: Emission
Nebula, Mag: 6, Size: 11'
05Jun04 - SXV-H9
image of M17 (Televue TV101 OTA
(540mm) at f/5.4 on G11, (HaL)RGB of 60:30:15:15:15
[all 5 minute subimages, unbinned H-alpha and
unfiltered luminance, 2x2 binned RGBs]), Processing:
MaxIm (2X resize of RGBs, DDP on Ha and luminance),
color combined into two images, one with L as
luminance, the other with Ha), PaintShop Pro (50/50
compbine of Ha and L-based color images). Taken
from LBV [seeing 3, transparency 7, guided with SXV
guidehead at 170mm on ST80 guided through MaxIm].

03Aug30 - HX916 image of M17 (shot at f/4.6, Meade LX10 OTA
on G11, HaRGB of 60:15:15:15 [a stack of 6 10 minute
unbinned H-alpha filtered luminance, 5 3 minute 2x2 binned
RGBs], Processing: AIP (dark calibration, stacking), MaxIm
(2X resize of RGBs, DDP on luminance), AIP (color combine
and G2V balance), PaintShip Pro (LLRGB processing, unsharp
mask), from Anza [seeing 5, transparency 7, STV guided 0.8X,
0.5YY @ 0.5 sec through ST80 at f/6]).
03May23 - HX916 image of
M17 (shot at f/4.6, Meade LX10 OTA
on G11, LRGB of 25:15:15:15 [a stack of 5 5 minute unbinned
L, 3 5 minute 2x2 binned RGBs], Processing: AIP (dark and
"sky flat" calibration, unsharp masking on blue channel),
MaxIm (2X resize of RGBs), AIP (color combine and G2V
balance), from Big Bear (RTMC'03) [seeing 5, transparency 8,
STV guided 1.2X, 1.3Y @ 1 sec through ST80 at f/3]). The
blue filter was way out of focus for some reason - I'm
thinking due to temperature shift.
5/11/02 - HX916 image of
M17 (f/6.3, Meade LX10, 9 minute
total exposure [a stack of 9 1 minute images], STV guided,
binned 2x2, from LBV [seeing 7, transparency 8, tracking
5]). Processing: AIP (dark and flat frame calibration,
stacking), MaxIm (DDP, contrast and brightness adjustment).

STV, Fuji Superia 800, at Big Bear (altitude 7600', during
RTMC'01)).
