M101
NGC 5457, Pinwheel Galaxy, Const: Ursa Major, Type: Galaxy, Mag: 8.6, Size: 22'
- 2004-Apr-23 - HX916 image of M101 (f/5.4, TV101 on G11, LLRGB
of 40:25:40:40 [4 x 10 minute unbinned L, 5 x 5 minute 2x2
binned R, 4x10 minute 2x2 binned G and B], STV eFinder
guided (ST80 at f/6), from Anza (seeing 8, transp
8). Processing: AIP (dark calibration and stacking), MaxIm
(2X resizing of RGBs), AIP (color combine and G2V color
balance), PaintShop (rotate to North-up orientation, LLRGB
layering (03-Mar-02 LRGB used as RGB), cropping).
- 2003-May-25 - HX916 image of M101 (f/5.4, TV101 on G11, 20
minutes of exposure [2 x 10 minute unbinned L], STV eFinder
guided, from Big Bear (RTMC'03) (seeing 5, transp 4
(variable clouds), tracking 0.6X, 0.7Y @ 1 second w/ ST80 at
f/5). Processing: AIP (dark calibration and stacking), MaxIm
(DDP and brightness/contrast adjustment). NGC 5477 is
visible to M101's left at the edge of the image.
Note:
Negative coma is visible in this image as well.
- 2003-Mar-02 - HX916 image of M101 (f/5.4, TV101 on G11, LRGB of
25:25:25:25 [5 x 5 minute unbinned L, 5 x 5 minute 2x2
binned RGBs], STV eFinder guided, from Anza (seeing 7,
transp 9, tracking 1.2X, 1.3Y @ 1 second). Processing: AIP
(dark calibration and stacking), MaxIm (2X resizing of
RGBs), AIP (color combine and G2V color balance), PaintShop
(rotate to North-up orientation, LLRGB layering). NGC 5477
is visible to M101's left at the edge of the image.
Note:
"Negative" coma is visible in the edges that I think is from
having the camera tilted a little bit.
- 2001-Jan-20 - STV image of M101 (f/3.75, Meade LX10, track and
accumulate (7 of 60 seconds), wide mode, from LBV).
